Our Need for God's Grace in the Gospel Ministry

Just as God gave grace to Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, He will give grace to His church—to preach among men the fullness of the gospel, to explain for men the origin of the gospel, and to exhibit before angels the wisdom of God.

        I. We need God’s grace to announce the gospel’s answers (3:8b)

                A. To hearers—those who were far away

                B. The message—the unsearchable riches of Christ

II. We need God’s grace to explain the gospel’s origin (3:9)

                A. Enlightening the hearers

                B. Unveiling the message

                        1. Hidden for ages

                        2. Hidden in God

III. We need God’s grace to exemplify the gospel’s effects (3:10-12)

                A. For an out-of-this-world audience (3:10b)

                B. Through the in-this-world expression (3:10c)

                C. According to God’s before-this-world intention (3:11-11)

                        1. God’s purpose fulfilled in Christ Jesus our Lord (3:11b)

                        2. God’s purpose of facilitating access (3:12)

                                a. Bold and confident access (to the Father)

                                b. Access through faith in Christ (to the Father)
