Though Parkway Baptist Church is led by a plurality of elders, it also functions on a foundation of congregationalism. That means that the church is to be informed and involved as well as affirming. Therefore we hold periodic members meetings through which we disseminate information, exercise accountability and encourage love and good works.
Prayer
We engage in no other activity that is as important and effective as the ministry of prayer. Our prayer team leader, Doug Foister, will lead us in praying corporately for the needs and ministries of our church family.
Lord's Supper
Though He had fed groups of five thousand and four thousand, Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper with only the twelve. We do not celebrate this ordinance with religious seekers or casual believers. This is for the serious disciple, and in our church it is for members. No one should miss the Lord's Supper unless providentially hindered. It is our most intimate time of sharing.
Receiving New Members
It will be our joy to celebrate the Lord's Supper with new members. These have gone through the five-session new -member's class. They profess faith in Christ for salvation, they understand our church's statement of faith, and they agree with our mission and governance. We will give them a warm welcome to meaningful membership in our family of faith.
Reports from Ministry Leaders
What a joy to hear about God's work in our ministries! Such reports give us reason to praise Him and worship Him.
Report from the Elders
Our elders will discuss the big picture issues facing our congregation, such as the expansion of our facilities. We thank God for adding such fine families to our congregation. We trust Him to show us how to accommodate the growth He is causing.
Report from the Deacons
Our deacons will discuss the good works being done through their ministries.
