Evangelism Ministry

The Evangelism Ministry exists to encourage and equip believers to share the love of God, model that love, and win people to Christ. To do that, this ministry offers evangelism training to better prepare people to share the Gospel. We also host special events that open up opportunities for people to share their faith. So join us as we train to be active messengers of God's truth.  Remember, the Lord Jesus commanded us to make disciples as we are going about our daily activities (Matthew 28:19a). Make a difference for Jesus by sharing your faith.

Your evangelism team is working on a gospel tract display for the foyer. We want to equip you with an assortment of specialized pamphlets. When you notice this new piece of furniture, please look it over. Consider how you could use the different pieces in your outreach to neighbors, co-workers, class mates, and other people you encounter in life.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age”.           Matthew 28:19-20

The greatest missionary to walk on the planet said "Peace be with you.  As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you (John 20:21).  In the book of Acts we see Jesus sending His disciples through the Holy Spirit who would come upon them and make them witnesses for the cause of Christ.

As a result of Stephen's being stoned to death, the church in Jerusalem was "scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria" (Acts 8:1b).  Philip went down to Samaria to proclaim the gospel, and the Lord sent him to Gaza, where Philip would share the gospel with the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:5, 26-27).  Saul met Christ on the road to Damascus and was eventually sent to the gentiles to proclaim the good news (Acts 9).  The Lord sent Peter to Caesarea to evangelize those gathered at Cornelius' home.

In Romans 10:14-15, Paul addressed this idea of "sending."  But how are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed?  And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard?  And how are they to hear without someone preaching?  And how are they to preach unless they are sent?
